What is sealcoating

Sealcoating, or pavement sealing, is the process of applying a protective coating to asphalt-based pavements to provide a layer of protection from the harmful corrosives and contaminants, like water, oils, and U.V. damage.

When left unprotected, the top layer of asphalt pavement can oxidize and decay. With time, the binder in asphalt loses flexibility.
